"A Girl Can Dream"
54”x 68”x 9”
$18,500.00
Still in her pajamas, Lois lit her first cigarette and poured some coffee. Filled with the glimmer of hope, she thought it might still be possible. The bright red bikini she'd wanted for so long was finally on the sale rack at half price. Yes, she admitted, it was a touch small, but it looked as though it would stretch. A girl can dream can’t she? With only a few days left 'till Beverly's pool party, with luck, Lois thought, she might just squeeze in. Delusion and reality just not on the same page. Soon, the obvious would become painfully clear. Serious doubt would inevitably lead to panic forcing Lois to buy the dull blue and green one piece in a more appropriate size.

"Dog Dreams"
Original Version - 7’x 22’x 15”
$85,000.00
Smaller version - 7’x 18’x 15”
$65,000.00
As Beverly and Bob settle in for the evening they quickly nod off. A common occurrence these days. Butch, Spike and Mongo raid the ‘fridge, change the channel and get ready to make mischief of one sort or another. Bob dreams of all the new dog tricks he’ll teach Spike after work tomorrow. After a full evening of coupon clipping, Beverly anxiously dreams of large empty cupboards that must be filled with countless cans of mushrooms, fruit cocktail and tuna fish. She knows her snipping habit has passed into the realm of obsession, but she’s powerless to stop. Alas…another American tragedy in the making.

"Beverly, Lois and Gladys"
7’ x 14’x 13”
$55,000.00
While Gladys puttered around the kitchen, Beverly and Lois dropped by for a cup of coffee ("cuppuh kawfee") and some lively conversation. It’s Gladys and Bob are go'n to the office party and she's in a tizzy over which shoes to wear. Thankfully - Gladys has narrowed her choices down to the red or blue pumps, but Lois thinks she should go with the pink polka dots. As usual…Beverly can't make up her mind at all. “They all look gaw-ghiss on you Gladys,” she gushes. Oh, what's a girl to do, she thinks ? In the end she nervously decides on the pink pumps and worries about it all night.

"Voila"
6’6”x 9’4 x14”
$40,000.00
As Lois chatters on, as she so often does, Gladys tosses one dish after another into the trash until Lois finally notices what she's doing. With a nervous giggle, Lois reaches out to steady Gladys. She can't believe what's happening. After washing more dishes than she cares to remember, Gladys either has a minor breakdown or a flash of brilliance. With the sink sparkling clean she takes a long slow drag on her cigarette, exhales luxuriously, and says in just the right accent - "voila, c'est fini, les dishes are done !" After all these years, Lois had no idea that Gladys could speak French so perfectly.

"Kitchen Dreams"
62”x 57”x 14”
$30,000.00
All dressed up and nowhere to go as Gladys ruefully looks up at the clock. My mother never ever left dirty dishes in the sink for a next morning wash-up. Never. But Gladys was too tired last night after the girls had come for mahjong - and there you have it. She acknowledges her job with a soft sigh, tunes in the radio to hear "time goes by so slowly," one of her favorites, and pours out some dish soap. She thinks ahead to her favorite shows - "queen for a day" and "the price is right." If Bob calls to check in, she’ll ask him to pick up some milk and a can of fruit cocktail for the jello she’s planned for desert. His favorite.

"Fifi"
6’x 5’x 12”
$22,500.00
Who knows what came over Beverly as she reached for the carpet sweeper and feather duster...something just snapped. In a delight of fantasy, Beverly imagined herself as Zsa-Zsa at the Moulon-Rouge. With uncanny lightness of foot, she delighted the crowd from Harold's big lazy-boy chair to the uncomfortable convertible couch they’d been given by Aunt Dot. Over to the stand-up lamp in the corner she whirled and waltzed her way around the living room. It wasn't until she heard the buzzer go off in the kitchen that she came to her senses. With a keen sense of resignation, she pulled up her stockings and walked off to check on the casserole in the oven.

"Zippity-Do-Dah"
5’ x 4’6”x 14"
$22,500.00
We all know who did most, if not all of the housework, when hubby left for work in the morning. Most left for the office by 8:00 and came home to dinner and the newspaper, doing little or nothing to help with the household chores. Men were men and women, well...women did what had to be done. When I was a kid my mother slept late. My old man got up early to fix us breakfast until my sister and I were capable of doing it ourselves. Though my mother did most, my father Bob helped out quite a bit sharing the thankless jobs of running the house
